For those of you that don’t know, digital marketing has been a multi-billion dollar industry over the last few years, and SEO is a large part of the reason it has been so lucrative and fast growing. That has resulted in organic search engine markets being more competitive, but it has also created a massive increase in the number of SEO outsource companies out there offering digital marketing services.
Such growth resulted in many people starting and maintaining businesses that are generating millions of dollars in revenue each year, but at the same time, it’s a big part of why so many companies have had bad experiences working with SEO vendors and thus have a negative opinion of SEO. If you know anything about Nomvo.com such a reality is simply unacceptable to us; primarily because there is no reason for things to be that way.
One of the biggest contributors as to why so many businesses have been burned by search engine optimization vendors is the fact that to date, there is still no industry accepted certification or degree that has been established as an industry standard for SEO experts in the industry. This is likely due to the fact that in the opinion of most people that are familiar with SEO, it’s an industry that appears to be changing so rapidly that it makes it difficult to create a standardized way of testing and proof of how good or bad an SEO vendor really is. While that opinion is not accurate from our perspective, mostly because we’ve seen the same tactics that worked 13 years ago work great today, it’s not the mindset most people have in this industry.
With all of that said, our aim in this article will be to help businesses get a clear understanding of 4 types of SEO agencies they should think twice about before doing business with them.
1) Avoid SEO Outsource Companies That Don’t Implement The SEO Services They Offer On Their Own Website
We understand that there are a lot of great SEO agencies out there who have yet to create and implement an SEO strategy for their own company website because they are too busy trying to take care of clients and grow the business. However, it’s an important point for companies thinking about investing in search engine optimization.
The reason we say that is because 9/10 “SEO companies” that are offering these services have no idea what they’re doing, let alone the ability to rank for the competitive keyword terms in the digital marketing industry. With that being the case, a good way for a business to know if the digital marketing vendor they’re thinking about working with is really as good as they say they are is to look at how successful they’ve been with SEO for their own website.
Again… we understand that many, if not most SEO firms have yet to implement a successful strategy for their website, but we’re 100% neutral and honest here at Nomvo.com. Keep in mind, however, that this isn’t the only thing that businesses wanting SEO services should look out for. In fact, we personally know of fantastic digital marketing agencies that have yet to invest in SEO services for their own website, but it’s important that business owners know that most if not all of the bad agencies have absolutely no SEO successes for their own websites.
2) Digital Marketing Agencies That Have No Current Examples Of Successful SEO Campaigns… Run Away From Them
There are plenty of acceptable reasons for this to be the case for SOME AGENCIES, like those who are just starting out or that have non disclosure agreements with their clients. However, keep in mind that more often than not, this is a clear indication that an agency in this situation is probably one that you don’t want to outsource your SEO needs to.
3) Companies That Cannot Provide You With 2-3 References Of Current Clients
One of the best advertisements that an SEO company can have up their sleeve to convience new customers that they are as good as they say they are is to have existing clients that are willing to vouche for them.
Again, some marketing agencies don’t have these types of established business relationships yet, but for the ones that claim to be one of the best in the industry, how can you really know if that’s the case without proof?
Remember That All SEO Outsource Companies Are Not Created Equal
The point of this article is not to put down or discourage new internet marketing agencies, but instead it’s to educate and remind business owners out there that it’s important to be selective during the hiring and prospecting process of choosing an SEO vendor.
As mentioned above, we are not satisfied with the number of negative comments and questions we get from companies that have wasted their time and money on SEO services that had no positive impact on their business. So, in an effort to reduce the chance of that happening to other companies who regularly visit Nomvo.com, we have to provide these reminders honestly.
If you’re looking for help in selecting one of the SEO companies you’re considering hiring for this aspect of your digital marketing, feel free to let us know, and as always we’re here to help. Nomvo!
